Bendis

Bendis (Βένδις of Βενδῖς), thracische godin wier eredienst ca. 430 vC in Athene werd ingevoerd, maar reeds ca. 300 vC weinig betekenis meer had. Het hoogtepunt van het B.-feest op de 19e dag van de maand Thargelion (april-mei) was een nachtelijke fakkelrace te paard.
